Welcome to Switch On NZ
My name is Paula Jamieson and I consider myself to be an
Educational Technologist - a specialist in tools to enhance learning.
I am a New Zealand Registered Teacher, who works for and is based in Te Akau ki Papamoa School in the sunny Bay of Plenty. I spend .5 of my time working with TAKP staff and students and have played a key role in implementing TAKP's 1:1 iPad initiative (the first one in NZ to be totally school funded). During the other .5 of my time I am able to offer affordable learning support and professional development in all things E-Learning related NZ wide.
I have previously been a classroom teacher then ICTPD Cluster Facilitator and E-Learning Advisor, who in 2013 became an independent advisor/consultant.
For me it's all about the conversation, the rapport, the relationship. I pride myself on being able to take you from where you are now.......to where you WANT to be!
I am currently working with more than 30 schools across the North Island, with a variety of tools, programmes and directions - Everything from Google Tools to Blogging to personalising apps into Te Reo Maori to designing iBooks and iTunes U courses.
Making connections both online and off is something I thrive on. I look forward to the possibility of working with you in the future!
Workshop choices are now available for Term 3 of 2014. Limited spaces, $110 + gst per teacher, includes morning tea and lunch. Click on image to view.
I provide face to face, effective, affordable support with not just the tools (technology) but the pedagogy, teaching and learning. I tailor PD to your needs and your budget, whether that's a staff meeting, a teacher only day, a team workshop or a day a term. The options are flexible to fit in with strategic direction, budget, needs and readiness.
Professional development that builds confidence and is transferred and infused directly back into the classroom to truly impact on student engagement and achievement.
